Fried okra and bacon!
It's okra season, the season I've been faithfully waiting on. So I am sharing this my way of making it because it's to die for This is an easy recipe I enjoy making for my family and my self. I am serving it as a side dish today because i love the combination of okra and bacon, yummy! If you love okra, and bacon, you'll love this dish too!!. Vegetables is something I purposely serve at every meal, and I usually like to exclude bacon but it is so darn good most of the time i cant resist it.
Directions
I cut up about two pounds of fresh okra from the field because it wilts a lot, but rinse it before cutting it up into small slices. Next I start the bacon slices in the oven at 350 degrees, and cook until it golden as you see in the picture. Take the bacon out the oven, then pour olive oil instead of the bacon oil. into a frying pan along with the chipped bacon. When the oil is hot, throw in the squash and stir constantly to prevent sticking and keep stirring until the okra is very tender and a little crunch, then all I do is serve with a scoop of rice or it can be eating alone. That's it! I told you it would be delicious.
